Tarot Boot Camp ~ Ace of Wands

ace of wandsThe Ace of Wands — The Minor Arcana

The Ace of Wands is related to the Minor Arcana and represents the seeker’s choices and actions throughout the realization of his or her destiny.

The Wands represent the spark plugs of the Tarot and the spark of creativity and the birth of an idea.

The Wand Archetypes are oriented toward action, growth and the realization of dreams.

These archetypes are associated with new courses that will further the development of careers, new ventures, and creativity driven by a desire to move forward with no fear of making changes.

The Wands are also connected to the burning furnace of passion and sexuality within that seeks and desires to be loved.

The Aces are the “Controlling Cards” in my deck. The Ace of Wands controls your path and represents where you are headed, into a new beginning.

This card indicates a seed of action that is growing, and there are unformulated changes that you want to make to jump-start this new beginning. This is the time when you will feel like someone lit your action torch and gave you a thumbs up!

A white radiating hand is emerging from the storm clouds, holding a wand, indicating the seeker will receive an enlightening message from the hand of God (Archangel Michael, the angel messenger).

The wand has four free-floating leaves to each side of it indicating there are two possible outcomes to a particular situation. The outcome could be positive or negative, depending on what decision the seeker makes.

“I am connected to the zodiac Fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. I am the seed of creativity that will move you toward a new beginning and a new direction. Creativity and energy will burn hot, propelling you to accomplish your dream. I am the spark that ignites you, and you may experience sudden flashes of creativity that will pass through you like fire. You may not be able to let this surge of energy go until you do something about it.”

The Ace of Wands Ruler’s — Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

The Fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius have great strength, courage, pride, vitality, and drive. Fire signs are radiant, fun-loving people who have a lot of friends, but they also need their freedom to feel at peace. They are generous people and will give you their time and energy, placing a value on living the good life and on material possessions, but also wanting to be recognized for their achievements in life. Fire signs are creative and natural-born leaders that are capable of running the show and of inspiring motivators. They are independent of others and want to control their environment at all times. Fire signs have sensitive egos, and they need to be the ones on center stage because they need to know they are recognized and admired.

The first decans of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are related to new beginnings.

aries

The Aries personality creates excitement, while as a cardinal fire sign, ruled by Mars, Aries tends to lead with power. Aries is both the first sign in the zodiac and the first day of spring. A true child of the springtime and constantly dynamic in motion, fearlessly forging ahead with a curious energy that leads to new beginning, novelties and discoveries.

Leo-zodiac

Leo is ruled by the Sun, ambitious, courageous, strong-willed, positive, independent, self-confident and a natural born leader related to new beginnings. This zodiac sign is the most dominant, spontaneous, and extroverted of all the zodiacal characters. Leos have magnetic personalities and are considered the “King of the Jungle.” You cannot miss Leo, they love to be on center stage, grabbing all the attention they’re seeking. They represent the permanent child who has to soak up the Sun, and be outside to feel at their best.

Sagittarius symbol

Sagittarius is ruled by the planet of Jupiter, which is about expansion, luck and fortune, and the biggest fortune in life is to be balanced and feel well. Sagittarians have great strength, courage, pride, drive, and vitality. They are known as the explorers of the zodiac, who are always on the move and radiate a need to feel free and at peace. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, easy-going, optimistic, inquisitive and a natural born explorer who travels the zodiac in constant search of a new beginning, an opportunity for another adventure.

The Story of the Ace of Wands Tarot Card

The Ace of Wands is enumerated one and represents the beginning of the Suit-of-Wands. The Ace represents a new beginning and the seed of energy that is planted related to a new venture or something very important to you, and looming choices that need to be made to start this new venture. There is a strong message to be clear about your intentions before starting any new ventures.

The sky is gray, which represents something unclear. There are dark, gray, moisture-filled clouds that represent uncertainty and suggest storms, but they also represent mystery and something hidden. There is a single wand, which represents the self, and a white hand with glowing rays represents determination and energy emerging from the gray storm clouds, suggesting the appearance of ideas from a hidden place (Archangel Michael, the angel messenger). The white hand holding the wand is also associated with our passion and desire to reach our goals.

The Wand is sprouting with new growth in the form of green leaves that suggest a new start and a new direction towards a new dream or venture. In the background looms a gray castle that represents a dream and a realization for something to come true, possibly a new home.

The purple mountains in the background represent a goal that seems far from attainment, but the mountain peaks are not high, suggesting that this goal is not really far away. The small blue mountain is symbolic of thought necessary to realize a goal. The green trees and hilly terrain represent growth while the color yellow intertwined with the green meadow represents enlightenment and the connection to the “Fool,” a new beginning that is waiting to happen.

The river suggests that one’s thoughts are in motion, and rivers also mean direction. This river suggests that someone is considering a new direction and that the energy necessary for realization of a dream is sprouting. Lastly, the eight leaves floating in the air around the wand also represent the “Eight of Wands,” a speedy conclusion for the dream.

Your creativity and personal power are energized with enthusiasm, courage and confidence. The Ace is the seed that is going to grow with energy, and when this card comes out in your reading, it expresses your creativity and desire to start something new.
